Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

The purpose of this event is the old adage that you can’t really understand what someone has been through until you’ve “walked a mile in their shoes.” We are challenging men in our community to literally walk around the Courthouse Lawn in high heels to raise awareness of sexual assault, show unified support for survivors, and engage all in YWCA’s mission.

Check in and walk up registration begins at 6 pm on the Courthouse Lawn. Men’s sized heels will be provided at that time.

The walk begins at 6:30 pm, with an Awards Ceremony to follow. Awards include “Best Strut,” “Best Legs,” and “Mr. Walk A Mile.” The event will also feature a Dessert Silent Auction.

Heels are encouraged, but not required to participate. Feel free to make your own sign to carry and dress creatively in your school/team colors or uniform.

All proceeds support YWCA’s life-saving programs for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
