Volunteer Coordinator, AmeriCorps Member

Program: AmeriCorps OK in Action
This is an AmeriCorps position. AmeriCorps is a national service volunteer program and AmeriCorps Members are not traditional employees, staff, or volunteers. Applicants must be eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps State Member. Duties and responsibilities include coordinating volunteers for the YWCA Enid’s programs including the clothing closet, sexual assault response advocates (SARA’s), and other events. The candidate also will assist the Director to develop a volunteer training manual and volunteer policies. Candidates must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, have completed a National Service Criminal History Check and have obtained a high school diploma or GED. All positions begin September 2019 and end August 31, 2020 and require 900 hours of service (approximately 20 hours per week.) AmeriCorps members will receive a living allowance of approximately $385 bi-weekly and once successfully complete their required service hours may be eligible for an Education Award of $3,047.50. Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate

The YWCA Enid is currently seeking a Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate for overnight shifts. We are seeking dynamic professionals who are organized, think independently and critically, use appropriate judgement, and ensure quality work. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. This is a 24 hour, seven day a week shelter so shift possibilities are overnights and weekends as well as week days. A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service, Human Relations, or Human Resources field strongly preferred, an Associate’s Degree in Crime Victim Services or other human services also acceptable.
